In order for FactorySuite to act as an OPC DA client, Wonderware Customers should utilize OPCLink to transform OPC DA server information into SuiteLink on the node that hosts the OPC DA server. SuiteLink is a Windows sockets-based protocol that provides high-speed network performance along with fault-tolerant behavior. It’s used in mission critical applications in lieu of DCOM in order to establish extremely dependable communications amongst all the FactorySuite core components in highly distributed network architectures.
FactorySuite 2000 with OPCLink provides:
• SuiteLink to OPC 'gateway' for 3rd Party OPC DA servers
• Connectivity to either 'in-proc' or 'out-of-proc' DA servers
