Hello,

I am trying to establish a scenario in a local network which is not capable of multicast extension. The scenario: I have a remote discovery server on my network(host A),  Host B has multiple OPC UA servers running, and it registers to the discoveryserver in A.

Host C, is the client here, calls for the findServers on the discovery endpoint of HostA.

I would like to know, if it is correct to accomodate the server capability identifier here for each servers. Although the specification says that the capabilities are supported only by findServersOnNetwork and thereby only accessed through multicast extension.

But, I also see that initially when the server tries to register, it uses the RegisterServer2 service and then the RegisterServer.

Would it be possible to achieve this scenario?

Regards,

Rakshan

ServerCapabilities is used when an application is registered with the GDS.

The fallback to RegisterServer should never happen now that the LDS-ME has been distributed for years.

When the spec was written there was a possibility that old LDSes could be installed on a machine.
