Discovery Module

The Discovery Module runs on Microsoft Azure IoT Edge in a Docker container and provides on-prem discovery of OPC UA Servers. It actively scans the site network leveraging an OPC UA discovery client. It can also automatically send the results of a scan to the Microsoft Azure Industrial IoT cloud platform’s onboarding service, which automatically registers the discovered OPC UA servers with its native Device Registry. The Discovery interface allows for recurring as well as one-time scans.
