OPC UA Wrapper

OPC UA Wrapper is a plug-and-play software solution that enables secure, bidirectional communication between OPC Classic and OPC UA systems. It helps organizations modernize industrial connectivity while retaining existing OPC infrastructure and applications.

The solution includes two components:

  • OPC UA Wrapper: Bridges OPC Classic DA, HDA, and AE servers with OPC UA clients by mapping the address space of OPC Classic servers to an OPC UA server address space.
  • OPC UA Proxy: Enables OPC Classic clients to communicate with OPC UA servers, providing interoperability between legacy applications and modern OPC UA systems.

OPC UA Wrapper supports connections to multiple local and remote OPC servers. It enables users to read and write real-time item values, access historical data, and retrieve and acknowledge alarms and events.

Security and communication features include OPC UA security modes and policies, encryption, user authentication, certificate management, and support for UA TCP and HTTP transport protocols. HTTPS is supported for the OPC UA Proxy feature.

By bridging OPC Classic and OPC UA technologies, OPC UA Wrapper simplifies system integration, supports gradual migration to OPC UA, and helps extend the value of existing industrial applications without requiring a complete system replacement.
