EUMABOIS is a non-profit organization, aimed at promoting the European woodworking machinery industry, protecting its business interests and dealing with all matters of relevance to its members. Technical, marketing and fair policy issues are among the main tasks of the Federation. EUMABOIS plays a major role in the international market, hosts qualified experts to address technical and economic problems, and has created an information and interaction network involving the most experienced entrepreneurs in business.
EUMABOIS represents more than 850 member companies which generate a turnover of 6.7 bn €, which corresponds to approx. 56% of the global woodworking machine production. EUMABOIS members produce a broad range of products for the forestry and timber processing (primary) sectors as well as for secondary processing for the production of all types of solid wood and panel products, including turn-key solutions.
Position to OPC UA
In a modern production environment, our customers typically connect machines from different manufacturers into a production network. This allows the view on the actual state of the machine from everywhere. This data can be stored and analyzed to improve the machine availability. To create such a standard interface OPC UA companion specifications are defined. That way all machines can be connected to an ERP/MES system or a cloud. It is as easy as connecting a printer to a PC.
