OPC Foundation Announces New Board Member:
The OPC Foundation announces the appointment of Thomas Hahn, Siemens AG, to the Board of Directors. Mr. Hahn was unanimously elected by the OPC Foundation Directors to replace Reinhold Achatz, who resigned his seat after accepting a new position with ThyssenKrupp AG. Dr. Achatz, formerly of Siemens AG, was a charter member of the OPC Foundation Board, joining the organization in 1997.

OPC Foundation to Exhibit at Hanover Fair:
The OPC Foundation will exhibit at Hanover Fair on April 23 through April 27, 2012. OPC Foundation announces plans to standardize OPC UA for Devices (DI) through IEC:
The OPC Foundation plans to standardize OPC UA for Devices (DI) through the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The OPC Foundation is requesting member companies to consider volunteering to participate in this new working group.
Matthias Damm (ascolab) as graciously volunteered to be the chair of this group; Ingo Weber (Siemens) has been nominated to replace Hans-Peter Otto (who is retiring from Siemens) to be the convener for the IEC work.
