DGZfP - Non-Destructive Testing

The German Society for Non-Destructive Testing (DGZfP), founded in 1933, is the oldest NDT society in the world. It works as a technical-scientific association on a non-profit basis and, according to its statutes, its purpose is to promote education and training, science and research in the field of non-destructive testing (NDT). It organizes communication between research and development institutes and NDT users, equipment manufacturers and service providers and with the public.
The DGZfP currently has about 1000 personal and 600 corporate members. These include well-known corporations and companies as well as research institutions, universities and public authorities, but also individuals who are involved in this field.
The main areas of work are:

  • Training and further education of testing personnel
  • Issue of competence certificates by the DGZfP Personnel Certification (DPZ)
  • Organisation of conferences and seminars
  • Publication of specialist literature and – together with the ÖGfZP (Austria) and the SGZP (Switzerland) – the “ZfP-Zeitung”, which is published five times a year.
  • Regular professional training in 18 regional working groups
  • Preparation and harmonization of standards and guidelines at national and international level in the technical committees
  • DGZfP is a founding member of the European Non-Destructive Testing Association (EFNDT) and a member of the World Federation of NDT (ICNDT).

The DGZfP subcommittee “Interfaces for NDE 4.0” works on computer-computer interfaces to enable Industry 4.0 to access NDE data. This OPC UA information model is one of the big steps towards this goal.
