Information Model Best Practice

Scope / Goals

The aim of the sub-group of the Harmonization Working Group is to create and maintain a living document (whitepaper) that contains best practises and guidelines for dealing with OPC UA based information models. The content includes:

  • Naming Conventions
  • Rules on backward compatibility when creating new versions of companion specifications
  • How to use OPC UA Modelling Concepts
  • How to use existing Companion Specifications
  • How to extend an existing Companion Specification
  • and more.

The content of the document is not limited to these topics, and we expect that further topics will get requested from the harmonization working group.
