OPC 40565-3 Mining - DevSupport - Dozer

Description

Dozers can be found in nearly all mining operations and are designed to move large amounts of material. Dozers are used for utility and production work. Utility work includes tasks that support a mine’s main production fleet, such as load-site and dump-site preparation and clean-up, bench preparation, road creation and maintenance, stockpile work, and reclamation. Operating conditions are unlike those for other material excavation equipment that loads statically and advances as the face moves. Rather, slot-dozing and rip-and-push operations, to assist large loaders, require the dozer to push material at varying distances and gradients in poor ground conditions.
