Battery Production - General

This specification provides the conceptual and structural foundation on which subsequent, domain-specific Companion Specifications (e.g., Mixing, Coating, Calendering, Slitting) shall be built.

In addition to these principles, the specification also defines several reusable component-level ObjectTypes that represent functional subsystems commonly found in different machines. These component types may be used across multiple machine-specific specifications to ensure a harmonized and interoperable representation of shared functional units within the battery production process.

It ensures a consistent and interoperable use of OPC UA across the complete process chain of battery manufacturing. It defines how the OPC UA for Machinery Basic Building Blocks shall be applied within the domain of battery cell manufacturing. These Building Blocks include, but are not limited to, identification, the server structure for components, monitoring, notifications, equipment and additional Machinery Building Blocks. They provide generic, reusable structures that are common to machines and equipment across mechanical engineering.
