This specification part describes the Jelly Roll Winder process step.
A jelly roll is the wound assembly of anode, separator, and cathode material. It is produced by winding the individual electrode and separator webs together in a defined arrangement and forms the electrochemical core of a cylindrical or prismatic battery cell.
