EoAT

VDMA Robotics + Automation starts development of OPC UA Companion Specification for joining technologies

EoAT (End-of-arm Tools)

  • In 2018, the working group to standardize information model for Grippers was started and a Taxonomy was created as End-of-Arm Tools (EoAT).
  • In May 2019, manufacturers of various tightening systems collaborated to define a standard information model for Tightening Systems. A new joint working group “Industrial Joining Technologies (IJT)” was formed and was included in the EoAT hierarchy.
  • As, Joining Systems, Tightening Systems, Grippers, etc. could work as part of a robot or could also work independently, it was decided to split the Taxonomy of IJT and Grippers independent of EoAT.
  • Industrial Joining Technologies (IJT) is an active group of VDMA and details of IJT are available in the following link: https://opcfoundation.org/markets-collaboration/IJT/
