Scope / Goals
Develop specifications for the communication among process air extraction and filtration systems, between process air extraction and filtration systems and preceding machinery, between process air extraction and filtration systems and supporting systems (e.g. technical ventilation, conveying systems) and from process air extraction and filtration systems into higher level manufacturing systems (e.g. MES), for information and diagnostic purposes and to set parameters regarding the extraction and filtration system process.
Technical Details
The Companion Specification defines the required data structures, parameters, methods, state machines etc. for the communication among process air extraction and filtration systems, between process air extraction and filtration systems and preceding machinery, between process air extraction and filtration systems and supporting systems (e.g. technical ventilation, conveying systems) and from process air extraction and filtration systems into higher level manufacturing systems (e.g. MES), for information and diagnostic purposes and to set parameters regarding the extraction and filtration system process.
A fundamental task of PAEFS in industrial process air technology is the fulfilment of the basic functions:
- to supply a process with the air required,
- to maintain the quality of the air during the operation of the process, and
- to eliminate released substances from the process.
PAEFS are essential systems used in the process and manufacturing industry.
A schematic overview of all the parts that make up a PAEFS (i.e. system structure) and their relationship to each other is shown.
PAEFS Model Overview
PAEFS modelling examples: Modelling solutions for air filtration systems with redundant cartridge filters or with several separators and for electrostatic separators with three filter stages are presented using three examples.
Ongoing work: Practical implementation of the Companion Specification in preparation (test and real time applications).
