The OPC UA Tobacco Machine Communication Companion Specification was created by a joint working group of the OPC Foundation and the Tobacco Machine Communication Group (TMC). It defines an OPC UA Information Model to represent tobacco industry machine information to higher-level manufacturing systems (MS/MOM) and to ease machine-to-machine communication. This is a significant step for having interoperable shop floor equipment for cigarette manufacturing.
