The merge module description (.msm) says that it will install the proxy/stub DLLs *and* OPCEnum, but (at least on the x64 version of the msm) OPCEnum is not included in the merge module... I verified with ORCA, the OPCEnum executable (or any of its registry configuration) is really not part of the msm package.

Our product ships as msi, and Microsoft recommends using merge modules for 3rd party components. In fact, nested msi installations are not even officially supported. So we would really like to use the merge module. But we also want OPCEnum.

Is the description wrong, or is the msm wrong?

(PS: OPC COM ProxyStub MergeModule (x64).msm version 3.00.106.0)

I will update the text.

OpcEnum is x86 only. When using the merge modules you need to include both if you want your product to work with x64 servers.

If you use the x64 MSI it will install OpcEnum.
