Hello, I am new in OPC DA client development in C# (synchronous variant). I need advice where to start with development of OPC DA client in C# (WinForms). I have downloaded UA-.NETStandard repository, but there is so many libraries and classes, that I don’t know which of them use and how to use them. Can anybody advice me how to start with it or post some sample application for OPC DA 2.0? Thank ou very much.

You need OPC Classic – not OPC UA:

Thank you for response. I know about this sample code, but it is for corporate members only and I am just registered user. It writes me “You do not have permissions to download this file.” Is there any other way how to start with development?

Thank you.

The OPC Foundation decided not to open source the classic OPC sources. I.e. they remain for members only.

You can check if you find something here: http://www.opcconnect.com/freestuf.php or work with commercial toolkits.

As to the commercial toolkits, one option is QuickOPC: http://www.opclabs.com/product…..ata-access .

Hello to everyone,

so the Dll OpcComRcw.dll, OpcNetApi.Com.dll and OpcNetApi.dll are usable only by a Member or also by a registered user?

I’ve download it from the foundation site and the OPC Redistributable Agreement of Use if i’ve understand well.

Thanks

People who accept the license agreement can distribute if it is incorporated into a product. You can’t redistribute the DLLs on their own.

The RCWs are part of the core components download which every registered user can access.
