Hello.
I have a problem with OPC Server started on Windows NT Server 4.0 (OPC Server from SIMATIC WinCC 5.1 SCADA system). I changed DCOM parameters:
– Default Authentication Level: [none]
– Default Impersonation Level: Anonymous
Properties of OPCServer:
– Authentication Level: [none]
– Location: Run application on this computer
– Security: everything allowed
– Identity: The interactive user
I tried to browse variables on the OPC Server and can’t connect from Matrikon OPC Explorer. I’ve got error 0x80070005 “Access is denied”. I tried run Matrikon from Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows Server 2012 R2 with no success. PING is working correctly, I can browse network shares in any PCs so there is no problem with network connection.
I need any help with this problem.
Hello Jacek,
This could be a very difficult problem to resolve, potentially; especially given the O/S in question…
Outside of DCOM you might check your Firewall (if any) to be sure that the application itself is not being blocked, or DCOM itself.
I have experienced a number of difficulties when mixing/matching Windows versions, especially if mixing x86 with x64. Quite often, what seems to work in one place is no guarantee it will work in another, so some trial/error is just part of the process, sometimes.
From a DCOM perspective, what are the EXACT security settings? by that, I mean WHO has WHAT access and for WHICH category (launch, activation, etc.)? You’ll need to pair-this information with what is used on the other computers.
