Hi Team,

We were trying to upgrade our client(from windows 7 to windows 10) and server (from 2012 to 2016).

We have installed OPC Core Components Redistributable (x64) 3.00.108 on both server and client but we are getting the error.

“Could not connect to server KEPware.KEPServerEx.V6. Please install the OPC Core Components 2.00 Redistributable 2.30 delivered with the Client Framework.: 0x80004002”

Any idea how we can solve this.

Install the x86 version as well.

Putting the DLLs in manually in system32 could mess up your system permanently.

You need to try re-installing/repairing KEPware.KEPServerEx.V6 client framework.

You are going to have to contact KepServer support to figure out why they demand a long obsolete version of CoreComponents.

Their products should run with the latest version. If this is not possible they need to distribute private copies of DLLs that they need.

Hi

I don’t think there is a problem with kepserver, because it is able to connect from windows 7 but not from windows 10.

Was windows 10 any other additional configuration?

What software is displaying an error saying you need to install an ancient version of the Core Components that probably pre-dates Windows Vista. You have installed the latest version of Core Components which is known to be compatible with Windows 10.
