Hi,

In the CTT test cases, we see that for some cases the expected result is - 'Client ignores the record', whereas for some it is 'Client rejects the record'.

Taking an example [typeDefinition contains a valid NodeId but the nodeClass is empty, Test case Err-012-02.js ] - the NodeClass is injected as Unspecified (response.Results[0].References[0].NodeClass = NodeClass.Unspecified; ). Here the expected result says - Client ignores the record.

Does it mean, that the node for which Browse request was made, should be ignored and not shown in the Address Space (this is what we were planning to do)? Or should we just log a warning message and continue to show the node in the tree?

How does 'Client rejects the record' differ from 'Client ignores the record'.

Thanks,

Deepali

A rejections is that an error should be logged (it is only not logged/reported if the client can't log or report errors).  While for an ignore the error can be reported , but if it is not reported it is not a problem.  In both cases the actual data return is not used.
