Hello all,

if I am right this facet is mandatory for a server lab certification.
UA spec. part 7 define the single CU from the facet. For example CU ‘Discovery Configuration’ will explain what this CU shall do, but is anywhere withtin specified how this CU should represent in the ‘Server Address Space’?
I searched on the OPC Foundation home page in the area ‘Certification’, but I miss the required information.

Regards

Martin

Hello Martin,

The simplest method of interpreting conformance unit requirements is to use the online reporting tool:
http://opcfoundation-onlineapp…..eReporting

Click your Server profile from the left and the conformance units for it will appear on the right. Above the conformance units click the radio button “Show also conformance units from included profiles” and you’ll see all of the CUs needed.

I did not see “Discovery Configuration” listed as a mandatory CU.

BTW: The Part 7 document is automatically generated from the online reporting database.

I hope this helps.

Hello Martin,

the description of the BaseServerBehaviour states that it “defines best practices for the configuration and management of Servers when they are deployed in a production environment. It provides the ability to enable or disable certain protocols and to configure the Discovery Server and specify where this Server shall be registered.”

The various units are not related to services or address space. They ask for configurability. Whether this configurability is through an engineering tool, a WebPage or a file is up to the vendor.

Note that configurability is useful for the plant operator.

Regards,

Karl

Hello Nathan,

thanks for the link to the profiling tools. I know this site before and it was very helpful to get the requirements which the server shall meet. As you say, the CU “Discovery Configuration” is not mandatory. But in relation to the UA Specification I was confused. The similarity between the online tool and the texts from the UA Specification I already recognized 🙂

Thanks for your clarification.

Regards,

Martin

Hello Karl,

the description of the BaseServerBehaviour I’ve already found in the UA specification. But I expected a specified UA Object to configure the server for the certification process. Thanks for your clarification about the ‘not relation’ to services or address space and the example which kind of configuration is meant.
We already support some way to configure our server, which should/can used by the costumer.

Regards,
Martin
