Hi,
I’m recently studying the conformance test tool and would like to confirm how we can test the notImplemented part such as the Protocol TCP Binary UA Security conformance unit? It noted to test the conformance unit manually.
Would we just connect an opc client to the opc ua server and confirm that the server has a tcp binary endpoint, and that the client can establish connection using tcp binary?
Wondering how it would be tested in the actual certification.
Thank you,
Jay-R

Hi Jay-R,
good to hear that you are using the CTT to get your product tested.
Your interpretation is almost correct. On behalf of your mentioned Conformance Unit we do not have designated test cases for it. This isn’t necessary as the protocol implementation, is implicitly tested by the other test cases which utilize this protocol mapping. The same would be done when you are connecting an OPC UA Client to an OPC UA Server and validate that you can establish a connection using the Endpoint for the desired protocol.
I hope this helps.
Take care and stay well!

The CTT is a UA client/UA server that implements the binary protocol.
If you passe the tests you are implicitly proving you support the protocol.
There should be specific conformance tests for each security policy.
If not you can test with other applications that support the policy.
You need to verify connection, re-connect after interruption and key renewal (you can adjust the renewal time in settings).
