Hello,

I'm in the process of reviewing some OPC UA C++ server toolkits - specifically the ones from Softing and from Unified Automation. Is anyone using these? Do you have any comments about their ease-of-use, or stability, or architecture?

Thanks

Hi,

These are two of the dominate vendors in the market, I would be willing to say that both are used extensively. They both have somewhat different targets, both provide free evaluation editions of their respective toolkits. As the requirements for any application(s) you might be developing might be different and the overall use cases you are looking to support may differ, you should download the evaluation editions from their websites and give it a try yourself.  I think you could be the best judge of what you are looking for and what the Toolkit/SDK provides.

Thanks Paul,

I have downloaded both toolkits and reviewed their help manuals and tutorials. It's hard to get a sense of the particular issues that I might run into though without having something to test at scale. I'm hoping anyone who's using these tools might be able to share some lessons learned from a real application that's out in the wild.
