What OPC server/client to choose|OPC UA Implementation: Stacks, Tools, and Samples|Forum|OPC Foundation

Hi Guys,

I am working on an experimental test setup where I want to connect with a S7 PLC and get all published PLC data available in an OPC central OPC server (seperate machine).

I have done some research on different options and ended up with the following vendors:

• Kepware
• Matrikon
• NI labview
• Ignition
• Simatic NET OPC

I am new to this so don't know what would be the best (most widely supported) option. Note that I am not looking to an answer like take that vendor, I rather know what would be the benefit to pick one over another. 
From reading and listening here and there Matrikon and Kepware seem to be used the most in industrial solutions, any thaught are welcome and appreciated... 🙂
