Hello Everyone

I will start the development of a generic OPC UA client (able to connect and interact with any OPC server). And I’m wondering which SDK to choose. For me the options are Softing or Open Source SDK.

Softing has a paid SDK and from what I could check, they have pretty good documentation as well as code samples.

In other hand there are two open source repositories one which uses .NET Framework 4.5 (only works on windows platforms) and the other one which uses .NET Standard (Cross Platform), from what I could check they have some documentation but from my point of view it is not good because it lacks description of classes and methods.

I want to know which option you think is the best to develop a stable client?

Unified Automation has very good SDKs which should be considered:

Their .NET SDK has a version using .NET Standard in beta which is cross platform.

The .NET Standard beta sounds interesting.  Is this for client or server or both?  Any idea how I sign up or get access to the beta version?

Thanks, Lee
