The OPC UA SDK creates PublishSubscribe (i=14443) and ServerConfiguration (i=12637) nodes under the Server object.

These nodes are not defined in the definition of the ServerType in OPC 10000-5, so as far as I can see they are not mandatory.

Is it compliant for a server to remove these nodes?

My motivation is to simplify the server as much as possible to reduce validation effort required.

PublishSubscribe is only needed for PubSub.

Remove it if you have no plans to support.

ServerConfiguration may be technically optional but it provides the API used to remotely manage server security.

Servers that do not support it will be choosing to torture their users.

I didn't realize ServerConfiguration was seen as being so important. Is this functionality is tested by the CTT?

It is being tested in the lab and at IOP events. I am not sure if there are CTT tests yet. But there will be.
