Part 5 (Table 3) defines a rule for the DisplayName: “Each server shall provide the DisplayName identical to the BrowseName of the Node for the LocaleId “en”.
Is there a reason for this rule? We want to change the DisplayName depending on the function that is running on the device. The browsename should be unchanged. Will this be a problem in the certification test of the server?

I believe that is a typo. It should read:
Each server shall provide the DisplayName identical to the BrowseName of the Node for the LocaleId “”. Whether the server provides translated names for other LocaleIds is server-specific.
The “” locale is the invariant locale that is used if there is no other translations.

I addition to what Randy describe the text above the table:
“For all Nodes specified in this standard, the Attributes named in Table 5 shall be set as specified in Table 5.”
This does not apply to instance you might create or any other models. It is just describing what is required for the item described in the specification. [i.e. all of the types defined in thi specification and the display name they shall have]
