Hello everyone,

does a String NodeID has forbidden characters?

In Part 3 page 59f there is only a restriction to a length of 4096 characters.

In my case it is the character “;”.

So is this alllowed as String NodeID “ns=1;s=Folder;Object;Variable”?

Since the semi-colon is a delimiter I would expect that you would not be able to use it as part of the node string. However, it is up to the UA Server to define the acceptable syntax for the string portion or that NodeID.

There are no further restrictions than those listed in UA Part 3. I.e. it is a sequence of unicode characters.
