Hi,

is it required for parent nodes to have the SubscribeToEvents bit set if the child has it set? In the following example:

Server --> A --> B --> C

C shall be an EventSource, B an EventNotifier and Server is an EventNotifier anyways. From the example in the specification it is not completely clear to me whether A shall also be an EventNotifier or not or does this only depend on the used model?

Thanks,

Markus

Every target of HasNotifier shall be an EventNotifier.

https://reference.opcfoundatio.....art3/7.18/

The SourceNode of this ReferenceType shall be Objects or Views that are a source of event subscriptions. The TargetNode of this ReferenceType shall be Objects that are a source of event subscriptions. A source of event subscriptions is an Object that has its “SubscribeToEvents” bit set within the EventNotifier Attribute.

Yes, I think I understand this but I will try to be more specific.

    /----  HC  ----\/---- HC ----\/---- HC ----\

Server    -->     A     -->     B     -->     C

    \------------  HN  ------------/\---- HN ----/

HC: HasComponent

HN: HasNotifier

Is this allowed or do I need a HasNotifier reference to A as well?

HasComponent trees exist independently of HasNotifier trees.

There is no requirement that they be the same even if they are similar.
