Hello,

I have a question about alarms. The OPC UA specification describes how a client can retrieve retained alarms from a remote server by calling the ConditionRefresh method. Is there a standard service that allows a client to know all remote alarms that may be generated, regardless of their retained flags? Or is it something that needs to be implemented in a customized way? We would like to enable/disable an alarm even if it has not yet been activated.

Only alarms that have RETAIN=TRUE are reported.

This reflects the behavior of many legacy alarm subsystems which OPC UA servers will provide access to so there is no way to get this information even if OPC UA had an API.

Part of the issue is in large systems the number of potential alarms is astronomical so it is not practical to enumerate them.
