Hello,
I am currently running into an issue with my OPC client failing after a certain amount of data tags being added. Below is the description of what I have tried so far. Still learning the ropes of OPC-UA so any suggestions of how I could solve this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
- The OPC service fails after adding added a large number of tags to the Connector file. There were 67907 tags in the file and all tags were being marked “bad”. Eventually, my service failed.
- I went back and only included the initial 69 tags, Everything worked fine and I got valid data consistently.
- I then set the number of tags to 65430, in case this was an issue of a tag count > 65535. But the behavior was the same. The client service hung.
- I set the number of tags to 49999. But the behavior was the same
- I included all non Digital input devices. There were14960 tags, of which 12,369 were marked as bad. Data froze almost immediately.
- I removed more tags leaving me with 3068. 2404 tags were marked as bad, including a group that worked previously. I do not have the ability to determine what OPC server message, if any, is causing these parameters to be marked as Bad. However, in this scenario, we were still getting some data. Note that the second time I ran this scenario, only 346 of the tags were marked as bad.
- Conclusion: at this time I am not able to reliably get data for the non-tracked devices and my service fails completely if I try to include the digital inputs I removed.
