Hello, I am new to the OPC-UA world but could really use help. I have a spectroscopy device that is controlled by a software installed on a dedicated computer. This machine has an OPC UA server, which you could also see and control in the software. I would like to connect another device (call it B) to start and stop software that controls my spectroscopy machine (call it B). The device A has a dedicated I/O box that has to be connected to the computer controlling B. The connections on I/O box are two 9 pin connectors, digital and analog (please see the link for device A (https://cdn.cytivalifesciences.....2-original). I used an Ethernet cable on the other side to connect 9 pin connector for this I/O box to the computer for device B. I sued only two in and two out. As you can guess, nothing happened. Do I have to install the OPC UA server or client on computer A? Any suggestions on where to begin? Thanks a lot in advance

It appears the UNICORN s/w running on another machine uses some unknown protocol to communicate with the I/O box via the Ethernet cable. You will have to install the UNICORN s/w to make any remote use of box unless you can figure out what protocol is used to talk to the I/O box.
If the UNICORN s/w has a OPC UA server you could then use any OPC UA client to talk to it.
