Hi,

I want to go from PLC (OPC UA Client) - Modem with M2M Connection - Server - PC with Wifi with scada (OPC UA Server).

Can someone help me which "Server" Program I could use to receive and send the data?
And does that server need's to handle OPC UA (Because it's only a bridge / data highway).

Thanks!

Conceptually, you are looking for an aggregating server.

You can get off the shelf products like:

https://www.unified-automation.....teway.html

Other vendors have similar products.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.
Is someone familiar with Unified-Automation or another vendor?

And which one could you recommend me?

Thankss

You should start by looking at products which have gone through the certification process:

Hi Randy,

Thanks for your reaction.
I am just in the research phase of my project, could I also connect from a Siemens TIA Portal Professional Scada Application (OPC UA Server/Client) via M2M (Machine2Machine) Connection direct to a Modem which is connected to a Phoenix AXC 1050 PLC (OPC UA Server/Client).

I am not sure yet which application has to be the server and which one the client, and why, and if this is possible at all.

Thanks in advance! Laugh

Any product that is both a client and server could meet your needs.

It is unusual for a client to be on a PLC so that part of the architecture is a bit strange.

Hi,

I Am working on a project where the OPC UA Server (Phoenix contact AXC 1050 PLC) is connected to a Sierra RV50 router with a M2M Sim-Card (Router 1).
The OPC UA Client is a laptop with TIA Portal WinCC professional on a office-network (Router 2).

So I know that I Should put the IP "opc.tcp://name:Port" of the PLC (OPC UA Server) in the "OPC UA Discovery URL" in TIA Portal Scada (OPC UA Client.)
But this won't work because the PLC is on another network.

Is it possible, and if so, how could I acces the PLC (Router 2) from my Tia portal SCADA Application in the office (Router 1)?

Hope to receive a reaction.

Thanks a lot in advance!
Joost
