Hello,

In part 12, fig 9, a diagram of multiple multicast subnet architecture is described. Here, it is said that there are multiple subnets, and if clients want to access a remote server/LDS, it should construct the URL by out of band mechanism.

In the diagram, they show a client trying to access the remote LDS-ME.( This means it is across networks right?). The findServersOnNetwork on both sides of yield different results? Could you please tell me, how is that?

Regards,

Rakshan

mDNS connects all LDSes on a network that allows multicast packets. Routers will often block these packets from propagating which means the only way for a Client outside of the network scope to see the results of a mDNS query is to connect to a Server that is physically on the network. The net result is LDS on physically distinct networks will return different results but all LDS on the same network return the same results.
