Hello everyone!

I am a newcomer to OPC UA, so my assumptions may be wrong at some points… I am trying to define an architecture to integrate different controllers for industrial devices such as cranes, manipulators or mobile platforms. These devices will be used to perform remote handling maintenance operations. A “Supervision System” will be required to schedule these maintenance campaigns according to the information received from the top-level control system (the plant level works with a different control architecture). So basically our control system is using OPC UA, receiving maintenance campaigns from a separated network (“Plant Gateway”), and making some operations with this information.

In the end, this means that the “Plant Gateway” shall be acting as a client (provides campaigns definition) and the “Supervision System” shall be the server (process the campaign data and register the progress of the maintenance task). Both systems will work on Windows or Linux machines. Then I have the following questions:

– Does exist any standard solution to manage this kind of scheduling task with OPC UA?

– If not, is there any OPC UA client/server application that could be easily deployed on Windows/Linux machines? I have only found SDK packages

I hope you can get the idea without entering the details, feel free to ask otherwise. I am willing to read your comments and suggestions đŸ™‚Â

You can create your own information model.

Part 10 may have constructs you can reuse:

You would likely want to look at an sdk.

There are servers that can take a custom information model and make it available to clients but those vendors need to respond with the details.
