If an operand in a WhereClause is of data type string and the operator is Equal should the event filtering be case sensitive or not? Is this stated in the OPC UA specifications?

It seems that the event filtering implementation in the SDK UA-.NetStandard is case sensitive, is this according to the OPC UA specifications or just an implementation choice?

For example:

What events should pass a filter with element [0:<Equals, /Message, TEST>] if the message property in the event is for example:

– TEST

– Test

There no case insensitive comparisons required in OPC UA.

There are a lots of cases where it is recommended that values be choose to avoid confusion cased by different casing.

In OPC UA – Clients are to expect case sensitivity from Servers, Server should be case sensitive, but are not required to be.  The .Net implementation is according to the spec.
