Hi,

I want to point out two things concerning privacy:

Using mail-adresses as usernames in this forum is one topic that has been adressed as problematic before. However the solution that was proposed doesn't work anymore.
The fact that everyone can view all members of this forum is problematic as well. Since everyone seems to get a forum account by default when signing up, you can compile a list of everyone who has ever downloaded OPC specifications - even if they have never posted here.

My suggestions would be the following:

Fix the "Edit Profile" function
Hide the list of members that is currently exposed to the public.
Force choosing a username at signup and use this as in the forum after user opts in to participate here.

Let's have a discussion about this.

This issue has been reported to the website devs.

It the profile editor will be fixed as soon as possible.

The member list should be removed entirely.

Forcing users to specify a username at signup would have significant side effects for the main website.

The profile is fixed.

The member list has been removed entirely.

We are looking at automatically assigning a non-email profile name on sign up.

It won't change existing accounts.
