Is it really necessary that the full email address we registered with OPC Foundation account is used as username, and shows everywhere on these forums? This exposes the email to unwanted spam.

You should be able to edit your profile, specifically the "Display Name".

Click "Profile" in the upper-right corner of the forum
A series of buttons will be shown, like "tabs"; click "Profile" (displayed horizontally along the top)
Click "Edit Profile" (displayed vertically, down the left)
Edit your "Display Name" and then click "Update Profile".

Once complete, your display name will be shown. The corresponding hyperlink is Javascript based and does not include your email address, so your email will remain confidential.
