Aptara MCS 2.0

The Aptara™ MCS is Baker Hughes’ 3rd generation of Master Control Station for reliable topside control and monitoring of subsea production control systems. The design draws on the heritage and learning from over 40-years of Subsea Controls experience in Oil & Gas industry.

The Master Control Station provides control and monitoring of the subsea Production Control System (PCS), often operating in conjunction with other control & riser platform safety, utility and management systems, and associated surface package units.

The subsea facilities can be controlled and monitored from a local MCS Human Machine Interface (HMI) installed in the MCS cabinet, or from a Remote Operator Workstation, or Workstations, installed in other location(s). All logic, sequences and interlocks reside within the MCS.

The MCS architecture is an Industrial Controller based system using dual controller design to achieve high reliability. The MCS consists of redundant Industrial Controllers communicating with and controlling both subsea channels.
