OPC UA Specification Errata

Finding existing Errata

Prior to the release of 1.05, issues with the OPC UA Specification were fixed with published errata. The errata documents list text changes that, when applied to the released specification, produce a corrected document.

After the release of 1.05, all errata are incorporated into a new revision of the specification.

The difference in this approach means that the online reference for 1.05 or later always includes all published fixes, however, the online reference for 1.04 does not include the published errata and readers of the 1.04 specifications need to read the errata documents to make sure they understand the current state of the specification. The errata documents for 1.04 and earlier versions of the specification can be found here.

Reporting new issues

If anyone finds what they think is an issue with the specification they should post to the OPC Foundation forum. If it is confirmed as an issue then they may be asked to submit a mantis issue which requires a Mantis account. See issue-tracking for more details.

The Mantis issues ensure the working group will review and address the issue. Mantis provides email notifications when updates are made. The forum post should be skipped if the reader is familiar with the process and is certain that the issue represents an error that should be fixed (typos and spelling errors can go directly to Mantis).
