2. OPC Booth: OPC Foundation Cloud initiative

2.1 New: Google Cloud and major automation providers join the OPC Foundation Cloud Initiative
Not only Google Cloud and major manufacturers joint the OPC Foundation Cloud Initiative! 11 world-famous manufacturers – including Boehringer Ingelheim, ContiTech, Danone, Equinor, L’Oreal Operations, Miele, Mondelez, Renault-Group, Japan Tobacco International (JTI), Tetra Pak, and Volkswagen – align interoperability requirements in IT and cloud environments based on OPC UA.

2.2 New: OPC Foundation & CESMII & IDTA demonstrator for the DPP based on AAS and OPC UA
The signal of close technical harmonization and cooperation between CESMII, IDTA, OPC Foundation and multiple other standardization organizations involved is critically important in order to avoid double standardization in the interests of the industry.
A joint press release will be published, stay tuned.

2.3 Live demo: Digital Battery Passport based on AAS and OPC UA
Our partner CESMII showcases an EU Digital Product Passport (DPP) proof of concept, containing a Product Carbon Footprint Smart Manufacturing Profile™ based on OPC UA. In addition, the DPP leverages the Asset Administration Shell Exchange file format (AASX) as well as the Asset Administration Shell REST (AAS REST) interface from the IDTA and Plattform Industrie 4.0. The DPP was designed using the recently updated CESMII Smart Manufacturing Profile Designer™, which is also on display at the OPC Foundation booth.
This means, that as an example 2 AAS sub-models (the Digital Nameplate and Product Carbon Footprint) have been modeled with OPC UA. The resulting model can be loaded into a standard OPC UA server or into the AAS Repository and accessed through the OPC UA REST and AAS REST interface.

2.4 IIoT Connectivity with OPC UA over MQTT
Our demonstrator is constantly growing to show assets publishing their telemetry data via OPC UA over MQTT to aws and Azure dashboards.
Visit the demonstrator and learn about the latest updates to the OPC UA specifications to establish interoperable IoT/IIoT scenarios.

3.OPC Booth: Field Level Communications Initiative

3.1 Ethernet-APL Demonstrator
Together with SAMSON as a device manufacturer and Prosys OPC providing an edge gateway, this demonstrator shows integration strategies for a smooth transition from traditional field devices to smart ethernet based devices utilizing OPC UA in resource restraint devices.

3.2 UAFX demonstrator including controller-to-controller, OPC UA Safety and OPC UA over 5G
Learn more about the finalized UAFX specifications for C2C, shown in a demonstrator including 22 major automation companies including OPC UA Safety and OPC UA over 5G.
