A seasoned technology leader with over 20 years of experience, Praveen Rao currently serves as
the Global Head of Manufacturing on Google Cloud’s Strategic Industries team. He is responsible
for spearheading Google Cloud’s global manufacturing strategy, developing innovative solutions,
leading go-to-market initiatives, and driving growth across the industrial manufacturing sector.
Praveen is passionate about leveraging technology to make a positive impact on the world.
His expertise spans cloud solutions, analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT),
enabling him to drive results-oriented success for businesses.
Prior to Google Cloud, Praveen held key leadership positions at:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS): Where he led AWS’s strategy and solutions in the
manufacturing and supply chain sectors for 3.5 years. - IBM: Where he spent over 9 years and played a crucial role in bringing to market
transformative solutions involving IoT, analytics, and cloud technologies for the
manufacturing and supply chain industry. - Various companies as CTO, CIO, and Managing Partner: Where he spearheaded
numerous business transformations through the strategic implementation of technology.
Praveen holds an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University and an MBA
from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He resides in Atlanta.
